Own Our Home Campaign

The Imaginists have a once in a lifetime opportunity to make our artistic home of the last nine years, 461 Sebastopol Avenue, our permanent home.

We are at a pivotal moment in the life of our organization, our neighborhood, and our city.

For nine years the Imaginists have been growing a culture of art making and participating that is unprecedented in the North Bay. From community created performances presented in Spanish and English to international collaboration with Hungarian theater company Krétakör, the Imaginists have made PLACE an integral part of our process and programming.

Our storefront space, 461 Sebastopol Avenue, is our artistic home; the place where we meet, plan, create, rehearse, teach, & perform. The street facing windows have been our proscenium and the street outside has been our stage. Our neighbors have supported and championed our work. Our neighborhood has grown around us. Nine visual art studios make up the back half of our building and currently all are filled with working artists.

On Feb. 15, 2018 we closed escrow on 461 Sebastopol Ave. Imaginists' supporters near and far donated between $5 and $5000 to raise our capital campaign goal of $350,000.

Now, in order to make our home 100% artist owned, we need to pay off our bridge loan from the Northern California Community Loan Fund. We must pay the loan fund $350,000 by Feb. 15th 2022.

We are determined to make a permanent space for art and community in Santa Rosa. Will you help us to stay in our home and in our neighborhood?
