Imaginists’ Summer Internship for outgoing Juniors & Seniors:
Students from local high schools have an opportunity to work with the Imaginists, a nationally recognized, Santa Rosa based, theater company. Interns receive practical training in the performing arts, contribute to their community, and develop a strong resume of skills and experience. Students participate in the Imaginists’ annual bilingual, bicycle-powered tour working alongside professional actors, emerging artists and community participants. Students will also take a workshop throughout June in which they will study acting, writing and devising techniques with Imaginists co-founders Brent Lindsay and Amy Pinto. The program provides opportunities for performing & creating as well as learning about the intersection of socially engaged art. No previous theater experience is necessary. A willingness to learn, take risks and be open to new experiences is essential. Bilingual students (Spanish and English) are highly encouraged to apply. All apprentices are paid a stipend. The Imaginists are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion. We encourage young people of all gender, racial, and ethnic identities and abilities to participate.
