Youth Education Programs

The Imaginists offer in-school theater residencies, after-school workshops, internships, and mentoring. Every aspect of our youth programming is designed to encourage creative freedom, to activate the individual voice, and to discover the power of collaboration. The Imaginists connect students, schools, and communities with artists through long-term relationships that invest in Santa Rosa’s youth. We focus on bridging the arts equity gap by providing high quality programming to students from Title One schools.

2023 Luther Burbank Elementary School Residency

SCHOOL RESIDENCIES: Workshops and projects support core curriculum through the theater arts with an emphasis on creativity and collaboration. Residencies are aligned with common core standards and tailored to the needs and desires of each individual class and teacher.

BILINGUAL (SPANISH & ENGLISH) RESIDENCIES: Workshops support core curriculum through the theater arts with an emphasis on creativity and collaboration. Residencies are aligned with common core standards and tailored to the needs and desires of each individual class and teacher. Projects and final performances are bilingual (Spanish and English).

AFTER-SCHOOL THEATER WORKSHOPS: In a collaborative workshop setting conducted by Imaginists' teaching artists, students are supported in finding their own voices through writing, devising, and collaborative performance projects.  These workshops take place on site at local schools and at the Imaginists’ space.
